Life really loses value without something to look forward too,
no matter what you have really compares to what you want.
Without realizing I was looking forward to so much,
keeping entertained by my own wishful thinking.

The term "you don't realize what you have till its gone comes to mind"
however my version is a little different
"what you dream is so sweet until you learn it will never come to pass,
then the unconditional feeling of lose becomes apparent, nightmare."
